Algebraic Bethe ansatz for the XXZ Heisenberg spin chain with triangular boundaries and the corresponding Gaudin model

The implementation of the algebraic Bethe ansatz for the XXZ Heisenberg spin chain, of arbitrary spin-$s$, in the case, when both reflection matrices have the upper-triangular form is analyzed. The general form of the Bethe vectors is studied. In the particular form, Bethe vectors admit the recurrent procedure, with an appropriate modification, used previously in the case of the XXX Heisenberg chain. As expected, these Bethe vectors yield the strikingly simple expression for the off-shell action of the transfer matrix of the chain as well as the spectrum of the transfer matrix and the corresponding Bethe equations. As in the XXX case, the so-called quasi-classical limit gives the off-shell action of the generating function of the corresponding trigonometric Gaudin Hamiltonians with boundary terms.Comment: 39 pages. Rational so(3) Gaudin model with general boundary terms

We study the so(3) Gaudin model with general boundary K-matrix in the framework of the algebraic Bethe ansatz. The off-shell action of the generating function of the so(3) Gaudin Hamiltonians is determined. The proof based on the mathematical induction is presented on the algebraic level without any restriction whatsoever on the boundary parameters. The so(3) Gaudin Hamiltonians with general boundary terms are given explicitly as well as their off-shell action on the Bethe states. The correspondence between the Bethe states and the solutions to the generalized so(3) Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations is established. Les aurores són unes resplendors que apareixen en latituds polars. Se les anomena així per la seva semblança amb el naixement del dia; són boreals si tenen lloc a l’hemisferi nord i australs si apareixen al sud. En aquest article, recollim les dades sobre l’aurora boreal que va observar, per encàrrec de la Reial Acadèmia de Ciències i Arts de Barcelona, l’acadèmic Narcís Vidal i Campderrós a Barcelona el 22 d’octubre de 1839. El Testament acadèmic de Josep Oriol Bernadet (1811-1860)

L'u de març de 1860, Josep Oriol Bernadet va llegir de torn una memòria a la Reial Acadèmia de Ciències i Arts de Barcelona titulada Sobre los sistemas generales de enseñanza en la qual es plantejava de donar resposta a unes preguntes que giraven al voltant de tres temes principals, que afectaven l'ensenyament secundari i professional en aquell moment: quines qualitats havia de tenir un professor? Quines eren les facultats que calia potenciar en l'alumne? I quines eren les necessitats requerides per dur a terme un bon sistema d'ensenyament? La vigència dels continguts i el fet que aquest text es conservi en forma manuscrita i no hagi estat publicat encara, malgrat que des de la seva presentació hagin transcorregut 150 anys, ens ha animat a presentar-lo en aquest article. A més, el fet que l'autor morís el 30 de juliol d'aquell mateix any confereix a aquest manuscrit el valor de ser gairebé el document de les darreres voluntats de l'autor com a docent. Per això hem pensat que ben bé podria ser considerat com el seu testament acadèmic.El 1 de marzo de 1860, Josep Oriol Bernadet leyó una memoria en la Real Academia de Ciencias y Artes de Barcelona titulada Sobre los sistemas generales de enseñanza en la que se planteaba dar respuesta a unas preguntas que giraban alrededor de tres temas principales que afectaban a la enseñanza secundaria y profesional en ese momento: ¿Qué cualidades debía tener un profesor? ¿Cuáles eran las facultades a potenciar en el alumno? ¿Y cuáles eran las necesidades requeridas para llevar a cabo un buen sistema de enseñanza? La vigencia de los contenidos y el hecho de que este texto se conserve en forma manuscrita y no haya sido publicado todavía, pese a que desde su presentación hayan transcurrido 150 años, nos ha animado a presentarlo en este artículo. Además, el hecho de que su autor muriera el 30 de julio de ese mismo año confiere a este manuscrito el valor de ser casi un documento de las últimas voluntades de su autor como docente. Por lo que hemos pensado que bien podría ser considerado como su testamento académico.The 1st of March 1860, Josep Oriol Bernadet read a report while on shift at the Barcelona Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts entitled, Sobre los sistemas generales de enseñanza (On general teaching systems) in which a proposal was made to answer the questions that revolved around three main issues affecting secondary and professional education at the time: what qualities should a teacher have? What were the faculties that needed to be strengthened in students? And what were the requisites for implementing a good educational system? The validity of the content and the fact that this text is preserved in manuscript form and has not been published yet, although 150 years have passed since its submission, has encouraged us to present it in this article. Furthermore, the fact that its author died on 30 July of that year gives this manuscript nearly the value of being the last will and testament of its author as a teacher.
